Mother’s Day shopping guide: Monkee’s of Kiawah offers gifts, fashion and special events

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Palmetto Life) — Mother’s Day is this weekend, and Monkee’s of Kiawah is offering gift options and fashion for the holiday

The upscale fashion boutique opened Feb. 26 in Freshfields Village on Kiawah. Owner Debbie Creasy said she comes from a business background as a grocer’s daughter and stepped away from the family business about five years ago to enter retail

“I love going to market, take great pride in things about for the store,” Creasy said

Gift options and local designers

The boutique is offering necklaces for Mother’s Day, with the first 10 customers to purchase them receiving a free mom charm. The designer donated the charms for the promotion

The store carries jewelry from Charleston designer J.Melissa Designs. Other gift options include acrylic trays from Tart by Taylor, picture frames and candles in scents like pineapple ginger

Upcoming events and promotions

The boutique is running teacher appreciation week through Friday. Teachers who show their school ID at checkout receive 20% off their entire purchase

On Wednesday, nurses can show their badge to receive 20% off for Nurse Appreciation Day

This weekend, every shopper will receive a chocolate-covered strawberry. The following Saturday, the store will celebrate with a rosé bar, mimosas and Bundt cakes, with every customer receiving a gift

The boutique’s e-commerce site is launching June 1
