PigmentOco and Iroony recognised at the Avantex Fashion Pitch Awards
PublishedSeptember 3, 2026
At the trade fair in Paris, from August 31 to September 2, the Avantex Fashion Pitch gave innovative companies a platform to showcase their latest advances. PigmentOco and Iroony were singled out for praise by industry professionals

PigmentOco, a Tunisian company founded in 2024 by Amal Chebbi and Ayoub Lassoued, took home the Avantex trophy. The company impressed the industry with its supercritical CO₂ textile dyeing technology. In a closed-loop system, CO₂ replaces water as the medium carrying dyes into fibres. This approach tackles one of the sector’s biggest challenges: dyeing is among the most polluting and water-intensive stages of production.A special ‘Coup de Cœur’ award was also presented to Iroony. Led by the French start-up RBX Creations, the project seeks to develop alternatives to cotton, including synthetic and wood-derived cellulosic fibres. It has yielded a process for converting agricultural residues- particularly hemp fibres- into cellulose and biomass that can give rise to new fibres.
This year’s finalists also included Yawya, for its body-scanning solution designed for automated fitting; Seconde Matière, a B2B marketplace dedicated to sourcing and reselling surplus materials; Yli, for its botanical treatment system for natural knitwear; and Altag, which transforms unused agricultural crop stalks into fibres for textiles. Also competing were LeLabPlus, which combines artificial intelligence, 3D design, and automated cutting to give unsold and end-of-life products a new lease of life; Ceylook, for its AI-powered wardrobe assistant; The Adirelounge, for its sustainable textiles made from agricultural waste and dyed using fair trade methods; and UseUp, which optimises patterns from the design stage to reduce costs and material waste. As a result of the competition, PigmentOco has secured a stand in the Avantex area at the next Texworld Apparel Sourcing trade fair, €2,000 provided by Texpertise and Messe Frankfurt France, and one year’s access to the Foundry fashion incubator (IFA Paris). The company will also have the opportunity to deliver a keynote at the forthcoming Circular Textile Days, taking place from September 30 to October 1 in Tilburg, the Netherlands.
