It seems fashion’s flirtation with minimalism was short-lived. As in that episode of Friends where Joey puts on Chandler’s entire closet, designers and stylists have proposed looks on the fall runways that resemble the entire contents of a carry-on duffel: turtlenecks under ties, daytime cummerbunds and sweaters as belts, and neckwear and jewelry layered on everything
