Fashion meets glamour at Karachi runway spectacle

KARACHI:

A vibrant fashion showcase in Karachi brought together some of Pakistan’s leading designers, models, and celebrities as the latest bridal and party wear collections took centre stage in a glamorous runway event

Held under the title “Style Runway Fashion Show” as part of Pakistan Season 18, the event celebrated creativity, elegance, and contemporary fashion. The show featured an array of bridal couture and party wear collections, highlighting the work of renowned designers from across the country

Leading models walked the runway in intricately designed outfits, while celebrated showbiz personalities, including Sahiba, Sunita Marshall, Hiba Ali Khan, Mathira, and Nimra Shahid, added star power to the evening with their runway appearances

Veteran actress Sahiba Afzal described the event as a colourful and glamorous experience, saying she was delighted to return to the runway after a long break. She revealed that organiser persuaded her to participate, as she rarely takes part in fashion shows

Speaking about the collections, Sahiba praised the designers for their creativity, saying the outfits and jewellery showcased at the event were exceptional

She also stressed the importance of organising such events, noting that they offer people a positive and healthy form of entertainment at a time when many are dealing with stress and personal challenges

According to the actress, fashion shows not only provide a platform for emerging designers but also allow audiences especially those preparing for weddings to explore the latest trends and draw inspiration from the collections presented on the runway

Sahiba started her career as a leading actress in her debut film “Mohabbat ke Sodager”, released in 1992. Sahiba’s first superhit film was Hero in 1992 with her future husband Jan Rambo and Izhar Qazi. Sahiba’s well known films include Hero (1992), Hathi Mere Sathi (1993), Khazana (1995) and others

Sunita Marshall is a fashion model and television actress. She is known for her roles in the political drama series Mera Saaein and the drama series Khuda Aur Muhabbat 3. In 2017, she played a leading role alongside her husband Ahmed in Mein Akeli. In 2023, she appeared as a self-sacrificing and innocent daughter-in-law in soap opera Baby Baji

Mathira is a model, dancer, television hostess, singer, and actor. She has hosted several television shows and appeared in music videos as well. She is known for her item songs in Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and the Indian Punjabi film Young Malang. She has shot for the cover of a leading Pakistani fashion magazine. She has aso appeared in the music video of a song with young rapper Arbaz Khan, which was released on 30 December 2013.

Namrah Shahid has worked with numerous Pakistani style architects and has demonstrated her appeal as a model. She has done numerous photoshoots for creator brands and has been a part of numerous popular style weeks as well. She has also featured in various television advertisements

The event concluded with enthusiastic applause from attendees as designers showcased their signature creations through confident runway presentations by top models. With a blend of fashion, glamour, and creativity, the show reaffirmed Karachi’s position as one of Pakistan’s leading fashion hubs
